HPD has often led the industry by introducing new evaporator designs into successful commercial operation. In the 1980's, HPD led the movement in the pulp and paper industry by implementing falling film evaporation equipment as the standard in black liquor processing.

Evaporation technology from HPD has also been incorporated in innovative systems in several key industries such as SAGD oil produced water treatment and key components of environmentally-friendly applications such as zero liquid discharge (ZLD) facilities to minimize waste volume and reclaim valuable water resources.

Crystallizers from HPD provide a robust and efficient means to produce premium chemicals, concentrate highly viscous process streams, and treat difficult waste streams to minimize overall volumes into manageable solids.

CeraMem® Ceramic Membranes

HPD's CeraMem ceramic membranes are available in several sizes

HPD now offers CeraMem ceramic membrane technology. These unique membranes provide high packing density due to large-diameter elements not found in other non-polymeric designs.

Based on proprietary membrane support materials and membrane chemistry, the CeraMem platform is ideal for harsh operating environments with features such as:

  • High operating temperature
  • Resistance to chemical attacks and abrasion
  • Chemical interness to all solvents

Mainly using Microfiltration (MF) and Ultrafiltration (UF) membranes, CeraMem technology is ideal for applications such as deoling of produced water, industrial membrane bioreactors, and desalter bottoms deoling.
